This committee was formed in 2002 for the purpose of assisting in the promotion and operation of activities related to the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver and associated events. Volunteers participate for their pleasure and the enjoyment of being part of a successful event.
Pre-events:
Each volunteer is required to staff two shifts at various pre-event promotions. Volunteers wear their volunteer clothing as representatives of the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver and assist with distribution of materials and explanations of race weekend events. Participants get points for each event they work and become eligible for special recognition awards.
Credentials:
Volunteers work the week preceding the race as registration officials to allocate credentials and coordinate race access to volunteers, workers and media.
Hospitality:
The largest group of volunteers works in the Hospitality locations in the Pepsi Center and Hospitality Tents. They make certain that every guest experiences a fun and enjoyable weekend. Their duties include verifying appropriate credentials for guests and communicating needs for additional supplies or responding to guest needs that arise.
- Tour Guides- A few select volunteers with training and experience take Hospitality Suite guests on tours of the Paddock area, and to explain race car/ team facts and information concerning the running of Champ Car races.
- Pace Car Assistants- Pace car volunteers assist special guests who are given certificates for a pace car ride, picking them up at designated areas, guiding them to the pace car area, buckling them in the car and unbuckling when they return.
Press Operations:
- Press room support – Assists public relations staff with set up, operations and tear down of media center, assist media with their assignments by providing information services, running copies, answering questions, providing schedules.
- Press Shuttle – Assists broadcast media by picking up crews at designated pickup points and transporting them, via golf cart , to designated locations. Handles Victory Circle awards, driver delivery, media press meetings, and start line assistance.
Special Services:
Volunteers will provide assistance as information, gate and grandstand ambassadors as well as concierge service and opening and closing ceremonies.

VOLUNTEER UNIFORM
All volunteers will be required to wear the following while working the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver or related activities

VOLUNTEER MEETINGS
Volunteers will be required to attend a general meeting as well as training sessions specific to their committee.
